Welcome to Florence!
We started in Florence by checking into our hotel the Relais Cavalcanti. Here is our room:
And here is the view out our window:
The rest of these photos are in chronological order. These are all from or around the Piazza della Repubblica:
Piazza della Signoria:
Florence is one of our favorite places.
The following is the Santa Maria Novella:
San Lorenzo Church:
Here is the Duomo. It is a massive church with green, pink, and white marble:
Okay, enough of the Duomo for one day. I’ll come back tomorrow.
Here is the Old Bridge in Florence:
Views from the Uffizi Gallery:
And of course inside the Uffizi gallery are the Birth of Venus and the statue of David.
Early the next morning begin’s John’s Duomo Adventure. What follows is my photo documentary of my climb up the 415 steps of the Duomo tower.
That was not so bad. Oh wait. What does that sign say? Oh, there are more stairs!
Okay, up to the next level.
The views from up here are pretty nice!
This was worth the climb and now that I have rested and have taken all of my photos I should probably head back down. But wait, what does that sign say?
Oh! More Stairs!
I survived!
Now on to more Florence.
Here is the church Santa Croce:
And more of Florence:
Palazzo Pitti:
Here is more of Florence including the Old Bridge:
Lastly, does this elevator button look like Leonardo’s art?
